Beautifully Illustrated! November 2, 2008 I love this book! I mean my son love's it! He's 16 months old, and I've been reading it to him since he was born. Now he asks for "Moon book" every night. The rhythm of the story is very well done, and the illustrations are so unique and beautiful!
A childhood Favorite October 17, 2008 I Took the Moon For a Walk by Carolyn Curtis and Alison Jay This hard-cover book is sure to be a pre-school favorite because of the imaginative tale of the boy who dreams of taking the moon like a kite for a walk. Illustrations exaggerate the moon while showing the nocturnal activities of town and country, with nighttime animals watching the happy boy and the moon lighting their way. The parent section at the end of the book provides excellent food for thought with its discussion of the phases of the moon and how the moon is used as a resource in various cultures. Nocturnal animals are also mentioned with their specific night-enabling features. This is a wonderful gift book for your favorite little ones.
This book is oft quoted in our home... July 22, 2008 Such a delight - the boys quote this books often...what a wonderful childhood memory this will be. Such a gift!
Truly enchanting...for everyone. April 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
We've seen a lot of "children's books", and this is head and shoulders above most of the pack....Wonderfully illustrated, and soothingly repetitious, it's a great bedtime story.
Many details become evident after repeated readings, and our 2-year old loves it, as do Mom and I.
Especially for moon lovers! April 26, 2008 My two and a half old son loves anything that has to do with the moon. When I first saw this book, I knew instantly that he would love it. Boy, was I right. The words flow gracefully as we read it together over and over again. This book is a family favorite that is read by someone in my home daily. The illustrations are captivating and will hold a child imagination for hours. Highly recommend.
