Product Description
Ten bright blocks are ready for baby to drop into the open bucket or through the shape-sorting lid. Baby will love filling the bucket with blocks, dumping them out, then starting over again. Great for eye-hand coordination and other early skills. Then baby can move on to sorting and stacking and learning about identifying and matching shapes. Includes plastic shape-sorting box with take-anywhere handle and ten colorful blocks.

5 out of 5 stars Great toy   January 6, 2009
This is a great toy. Purchased it for two grandsons 9 mos and 1 yr old. They both love it and play with it daily.

3 out of 5 stars Lid is a major problem   January 6, 2009
I wish I had paid more attention to the reviewers who mentioned that the lid does not stay on. I have 14-month old twins and both enjoy taking the shapes out and occassionally putting them back in, but it is extremely difficult to get them to use the lid. It seems as if the lid almost just balances on top, there is no effort required to take it off. Sometimes, I can get them to try the sorter for one or two shapes, but then they immediately pull the lid off to take the shape(s) back out. I love watching them when they actually use the sorter, it is great to see their little hands trying to manipulate the shapes, but those moments are few and far between. They like to play with the shapes and box, but it doesn't serve its purpose in my opinion. If only they had made it with a lid that you could somehow fasten in place.

2 out of 5 stars We returned it...baby was bored.   December 31, 2008
Originally I bought these as "first blocks" for our baby (6 mos old) but ended up returning them since they're not very fun and pretty pricey for how cheap they are. For younger babies who aren't sorting yet, I recommend getting "HABA First Blocks Set"First Blocks, a bit pricier, but very good quality (safe wood, NOT made in China). These are captivating blocks that are very imaginative. True, they don't have the sorting qualities like this toy might, but are visually stimulating and can be stacked and use to actually "build" things.

5 out of 5 stars Hours of Fun!   December 29, 2008
My 11 month old son loves this toy. He plays with it for HOURS and HOURS. He loves to dump them, put them back in the container, throw them, etc. It keeps him occupied for hours. Great toy!!!

5 out of 5 stars My baby loves these!!   December 27, 2008
This set of blocks was an impulse buy. My baby was beginning to sit up and I wanted something that would keep him occupied while he was practicing his new sitting skills. I also am trying to balance the singing/noisemaking toys with simpler toys.

For a 7 month old baby (he got them at 5 months) I love everything about these blocks, the bucket and the lid. They are colorful and catch his attention. They are lightweight so he can pick them up and manipulate them. His coordination is improving on a daily basis. Other reviews have mentioned that the lid doesn't stay on so, but I see this as a positive so that my baby can remove the lid himself and take out all the toys inside. Maybe as my child gets older and is able to use the sorter, I will be more concerned with this, but for now it doesn't present a problem.

I wasn't expecting this simple toy to hold his attention for very long, but this is the toy that he plays with for the longest period of time. He hasn't gotten bored with it at all. Well worth the cost, but cheaper elsewhere.
