For children up to age 12, the set comprises of a rectangular table and two chairs. The table not only provides ample surface space, but it also contains four cubbies in which to stow scissors, crayons, and construction paper. this table set is beautiful... just the right size for my 7 year old.
the chairs hold an adult as well.
it was very easy to put together......
One thing is that the bolts for the table legs are too short. There are 2 lengths for each leg. one is shorter than the other which causes the legs to be wobbly. So I replaced them all with longer screws and now they are really strong.
Only for that... This is awesome set.

We were impressed that the table and chairs were made of solid wood not just pressed wood. The price of the table and chairs was reasonable as well. The shelfs in the table were a real asset to our children for storing their crayons, schoolwork and school boxes. The table was easy to put to gather. Chairs took a little more time because instead of using regular screws they used screws that used an allen wrench. With this in mind it took a little more time, however, we are overlly satisfied with the product and would recommend the table and chairs to anyone.

I have now received my 2nd set. The 1st set arrived damaged...noticeable cracks in the wooden table top. (did not have to take everything out of the box to see the cracks on the one end of the table top). So, Amazon was great with sending a replacement. This time the one end of the box was opened. Upon inspection of the items, I could not find any type of hardware to put the table/chairs together. Also, found another crack in the table top. I really wanted to get this table set up and running. Now I have to return this and sorry to say, Amazon cannot do another replacement, however, can issue a return of my money. I will now have to reorder the item and pray that it arrives intact with all that is needed to put it together.
Also, please note that the table is a bit lighter in color (?straw) as to the set you see online.
3 stars is for my headache that I have right now. :) I still love Amazon and it's free shipping...can't beat that!
