hours of fun January 6, 2009 What a great gift Santa brought for our 5 1/2 year old!!!!! He was going to get the cheaper, plastic version (MarbleWorks?), but is SO pleased that he didn't!!! He knew this Marble system was very durable and of high quality. The whole family enjoys building and designing. Good thing he looked at the 'Customer Reviews' on Amazon.com before he purchased. They helped tremendously!! Great directions for building different structures included too!!!
All day fun! December 26, 2008 Ever since my son saw a plastic toy at Costco, he's been nutty about a marble machine since October. Since he loves Thomas and Friends and wooden tracks I figured this would be a hit as well. He opened it this morning and besides for a few breaks to go potty and play with Hot Wheels, it was used all day long!
It's great that you can configure it different ways so it doesn't really get old. Building a new set up only takes about 10 minutes. I set it up on the wooden floor so they go every where when they get to the bottom. I need to set it up in his room on the carpet so the marbles don't roll too much.
All in all, a great toy for all ages.
Lots of fun August 28, 2008 Lots of fun, well worth the cost. I got it for my 3 year old son and we spend lots of time him and I building all of the different structures possible with this set.
Best Marble Tower Ever July 10, 2008 These pieces build a solid tower. There are special pieces that make flip-fops, spiral-to-center, and which keep the marbles speed up as they come out of chutes. My son, 10, was absorbed for days.
Not an independent toy for young kids but loads of fun! May 15, 2008 I bought this toy for my son when he was three years old. At that age he did not have nearly the coordination to build a run by himself and also had a bad habit of knocking down the taller, more complex runs when trying to add new marbles. I was hoping/thinking this would be a sturdier version of the snap together plastic marble runs which he was largely able to construct and play with by himself. It is a beautiful set and as long as I am willing to build the runs and repair them when they fall he does enjoy sending the marbles racing down for time on end. I would estimate that this marble run would have to wait until he is possibly six or seven until he could enjoy it independently. If your child is that old I'm sure they will love it, and continue to enjoy it until they are much older. Younger children still enjoy the fun but need help to make it work.
