Sounds very clear January 2, 2009 This is our first LeapFrog product. Grandma got it for our 1 year old and he has really enjoyed pushing the buttons. He is not old enough to us it fully but will be soon. We were really impressed with how clear the voice is. It makes the hard c sound, and so on, and you can really hear it. We were sad to see the stickers were peeling off after only a day (and he didn't even suck on it) but a little glue seems to have done the trick. The bus roof is perfect for a little guy to carry it around with too.
Fun for years to come November 14, 2008 We've had this toy for three years and through two playful children. It has held up really well and is fun for ages 9 months- 4 years.
Newer isnt always better February 29, 2008 The bus does do what it advertises. It teaches the alphabet and signs songs.
I say newer is not always better bc the older version of this bus is great. My son has the older version and I bought these this past Christmas for my god children thinking it was exactly the same. The older version has about four or five levels. It teachs the alphabet, then the next level quizzes the child on the alphabet. The level above that teaches phonics, it goes over the sound of every letter. The level above that then quizzes the child on the phonics. I believe the older one is better because my son is now 6, and he can still benefit from this toy. I bought his the toy when he turned 1yrs old for christmas, now that he is in kindergarden I brought the toy back out and he uses the phonics level to re-enforce his reading skills ( WHICH ARE EXCELLENT BY THE WAY).
So, if this is a 'nice' gift for a child then the new version is good. But if its for your own child or one you truely care about Look for the older version. The bus of the older version is a bit bigger but its also better!!!
Our son learned his letters and phonics from this bus February 22, 2008 We purchased this for our son about 2 years ago. He started out pushing the buttons randomly on it (his favorite was to push the music note and hear the alphabet song over and over). As time progressed, we noticed his interest in the bus grew, and he became more calculating about which letters he pressed. He is nearly 3, and I am convinced that the toy helped teach him all of his letters as well as basic phonics (he had learned all of his letters by the time he was 18 months). He likes to spell his name out by pressing the letters on the bus! It is not a flashy toy, but our son absolutely loves it. This is a great addition to any toy chest!
My 11 month old granddaughter likes this bus February 20, 2008 My granddaughter is 11 months old and this toy is kept at my house. She comes to my house once a week and usually plays with this toy first. I have many other toys at my home for her.
