Not for small children January 6, 2009 We bought this for our 2 year old and it is definitely made for children who are at a reading age. My son still loves to play with it because he can click his little heart out and we know he will not be able to ruin anything on the computer. So we will most likely get more use out of it the older he gets but it still fun for the meantime.
Great Toy January 1, 2009 I bought this for christmas for my three year old and my 5 year old loves it as well. It's great because they don't mess up my new computer while being able to enjoy it and they love it because they don't need to get me to switch websites for them every 30 seconds, they just pop a new character in. They actually fight for it.
Great toy December 30, 2008 I really like this toy and my daughter does too. She is 2 1/2 yr old. My problem is the buttons that you have to push. My daughter doesn't like waiting for the items to pop up on the screen. She is constantly throwing the pieces around. So it is probably better for an older child.
excellent December 27, 2008 My twin 4 year olds love this product and I love that it is not only fun but educational.
Takes the worry out of online gaming for kids December 27, 2008 My son is extremely proficient at using the keyboard and mouse to play his favorite online games so we gave him his own (hand-me-down) computer when he turned three. The Easy Link eliminates the biggest problems he has when using the computer - annoying pop-ups, accidentally surfing away from his gaming sites, and closing the web browser. Now he can sit and play his favorite games without getting frustrated. The characters are a bit hard to push into the slots, but he has no problems swapping them in and out. The software installed easily and works great once I installed the free update, even on his old, slow computer. The proprietary browser works perfectly to block out unnecessary links yet still allow access to the games, videos, etc. I turned off the password protection in the parental controls because I don't feel it is necessary right now, but I like that I can turn it on if needed. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I wish the unit came with more than just three keys.
ETA: I edited the XML file as suggested by another reviewer and now my son has even more fun with it. He isn't a big fan of the Dragon Tales or Fisher Price sites, so I was able to change the keys to go to the sites that he does like instead of buying new keys.
